Frequently asked questions
Who is Rest & Resus House best suited to?
Visiting doctors, senior medical students, registrars, consultants, specialists on rotation and ATLS-related guests. The house is designed around the realities of medical life.
Are the rooms and bathrooms fully private?
Yes. All four guest rooms are private with their own bathroom. Geranium has a separate full bathroom with bath and shower. The other three rooms have en-suite shower rooms.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Yes. Fast fibre Wi-Fi of around 200 Mbps is included throughout the house.
Is housekeeping included? Is food included?
Daily housekeeping is included. Food is not. Guests cater for themselves using the fully equipped kitchen. Shopping centres are within easy walking distance.
Is secure parking available?
Yes. Secure parking for 6 to 8 cars on-site: a 2-car garage, 3 covered carport bays and additional open parking.
Is transport included?
Guests usually arrange their own transport. Two Subaru vehicles may be available on request at extra cost.
How secure is the property?
Located in a boomed enclosure with CCTV, electric fencing, an advanced alarm system, two contracted security companies and strong room-level security features. Every guest receives a SAFER CITY panic button.
What are the main house rules?
Quiet hours after 23:00. No smoking inside. Alcohol in moderation. Visitors by prior arrangement. Shared kitchen spaces to be left clean.
What happens during load shedding?
A full-house backup generator ensures continuity of power throughout the property. Filtered borehole water supply means the water is not affected by outages either.
